About Us
Howick Dance Studio, established in 1992, is proud to offer classes in the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabi, as well as Open Ballet, Open Contemporary, Pointe and Body Conditioning and Preschool classes.
All our Preschool and Grade classes are accompanied by a live pianist.
Through a caring and positive environment we aim to instil a love of dance, enhance confidence and to give to every girl the grace and poise to carry through life.
For each boy, confidence, discipline and stature.
Our Teachers
Sharon Barber
Principal
Mrs Barber established the Howick Dance Studio in 1992, after completing several years of intensive training with the Royal Academy of Dance in London, where she achieved the RAD Teaching Diploma. She has also achieved Pilates mat qualifications, and a Diploma in Progressing Ballet Technique.
Ichiro Harada
Mr Harada is currently a Dance Teacher at St. Kentigern College. He graduated from Boston Conservatory with a BFA in dance, and has since danced around the world. As a choreographer his pieces have been performed in many cities in Japan as well as Russia, Australia, Korea and America.
Asher Saunders
Asher Saunders has danced at Howick dance studio since she was four years old under Mrs Barber and Mr Harada She spent three years training at the Mt Eden Ballet Academy future dancers programme and is excited to take the next step in her dancing career.
